WHAT IS OMBRE POWDER BROWS?

The Ombre Powder is a semi-permanent tattoo with faded fronts and crisp dark tails. This technique involves the application of thousands of tiny, pigmented dots into the skin that gradually builds color and shape to the brows.

DOES IT HURT?

The pain level is different for every person. Topical numbing is given throughout the entire process to help ease any discomfort. On average, most clients feel minimal to no pain at all after numbing is given.

HOW LONG DOES THE FIRST APPOINTMENT TAKE?

Allow up to 4 hours for your appointment. Please plan accordingly.

WHAT SHOULD I DO BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT?

  • If you have an ideal shape and color in mind, bring a few reference photos with you to your appointment. You may fill in your eyebrows as you normally would so we can take into consideration the shape you desire.

  • Bring your makeup in case you want to touch up your makeup for the “after” pictures. During the procedure, parts of your foundation around the brows will be removed. I would also recommend you put makeup on before your appointment if you would like to be picture perfect for the “before” and “after” photos.

  •  If you have been on prescription Accutane in the past, you must wait at least 1 year before considering this procedure.

  •  You must stop using Retinol 2 weeks prior to your appointment and avoid using it for the 2 weeks following your appointment.

  • If you get Botox regularly, please get that done 3 months before your appointment. This is to ensure we can make your brows as symmetrical as possible.

  •  Avoid chemical peels at least 4 weeks prior to your appointment.

  •  Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning for 2 weeks before and after your procedure. Do not come to your appointment with a sunburn.

  •  Avoid alcohol, caffeine, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E, or any blood thinning medication 24 hours prior to your appointment.

WHY DO I NEED A TOUCH-UP? IS IT INCLUDED IN THE PRICE?

This procedure is a two-step process. A touchup is required after 6-8 weeks to fill-in any gaps that the skin did not retain as well and to make any necessary adjustments to the brows to achieve desired look. This session is also called the "perfecting session." Additional touch-ups may be needed as everyone heals differently and many factors lead to varied results.

CAN YOU COVER AN OLD TATTOO DONE BY ANOTHER ARTIST?

This depends. The old tattoo must not be too dark, extremely uneven, and dramatic in shape. If a coverup is achievable, the color might have to be darker, and the shape thicker to cover up the old tattoo. Also, more than one touch-up might be needed. Pictures of bare brows in good lighting and from different angles can be sent to 704-222-1074 to determine if brows can be coverable.

HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?

Ombre Powder can last anywhere from 6mths to 3 years depending on skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare. An annual color boost is recommended to refresh the color. If any of the following apply to you, your tattoo might fade faster & you will have to come back sooner for a touch-up.

  • Oily skin

  • Excessive sweating

  • Get chemical peels/facials/microdermabrasion/retinols     (constant exfoliation)

  • Sun exposure and/or use of tanning booth

  • Swimming (exposure salt and chlorine)

  • Iron deficiency (i.e Anemic)

  • Frequent smoker

  • Certain medications will also increase fading

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AFTER MY FIRST APPOINTMENT?

Immediately after the procedure, the brows will look dark, bold, and possibly red & a bit swollen for the next couple of days. This is completely normal, so please do not panic. The complete healing process takes about a month. During those 4-6 weeks, the brows will dry and scab, color will lighten, and then true color will appear once new skin has regenerated. Remember, this is a two-set procedure (sometimes more) to achieve desired look.

WHAT IS THE AFTERCARE?

  • Wash your hands thoroughly before touching the brow area.

  • Clean brows every couple of hours with cotton rounds and purified water until all scabbing has fallen off.

  • Begin applying ointment on the 3rd day until all scabs have fallen off on its own.

  • Keep brows dry. No water, cleansers, creams, make-up, or any other products on the brow area. Showers should be fast to avoid any chemicals getting on the brows, which can interfere with the color and healing of your tattoo.

  • Do not pick or scratch the scabs/flakiness; let it fall naturally. Picking can cause scarring, premature loss of color, and even an infection. Remember: the color will somewhat disappear during the healing process, but it will resurface at a lighter shade as your skin regenerates.

  • Use a hat if you will be out in the sun; the sun causes fading.

  • Avoid exercising, tanning, waxing/threading, facial treatments.

DO I STILL HAVE TO WAX/TWEEZE/THREAD AFTERWARDS?

Yes, you will still have to remove hairs outside of the brow shape to keep them groomed.

I GOT MY BROWS DONE ELSEWHERE; CAN YOU TOUCH THEM UP?

This depends. Working over other artists can be challenging and time consuming. I will need pictures of your bare brows in good lighting to determine if I can work over the old work. Because I did not do your initial procedure, you will be charged as a new client and not the touchup price.

HOW OLD MUST I BE FOR THIS PROCEDURE?

By law, you must be at least 18 years old regardless of a parents' consent.
